Story
I completed a 100 mile Ultra Marathon for Walking with the Wounded last September and raised over £2,000 so I'm pleased to be raising money for them again especially after hearing what a difference it can make to people's lives.
Having served multiple tours of Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan during my time in the army I understand a lot of the struggles veterans can go through after leaving and transitioning into civilian life. Support from the Army itself after service is very minimal so it is charities like Walking with the Wounded that lots of veterans rely on for help and ongoing support.
I am stepping forward again to try and raise more money for the charity that does amazing work for veterans, The charity have entered me into the 100km Heineken Race to the Castle race on June 26th but on top of that I will now also be running a 50km ultra marathon in Llangollen the week before then and finally on July the 23rd I will be running a 145 mile Ultra Marathon from London to Bristol for a combined total mileage of 238 miles over 3 races.
UPDATE Llangollen 50km completed 🎖 ✔
Heineken 100km race completed in 16 hours 11 minutes. 🎖✔
Paul and Mandy Goodwin who helped pace me for the 100mile in Sept have again volunteered to give up their time again to pace and support myself and the charity and also helping to pace and support will be my good friend Graeme Anthony. All massive heroes to me.
Thank you also to Ali McDonald from Resilient Nutrition for much needed nutritional advice leading up to these events.
