Story
This year Isaac and I will be running the GNR for Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness.
I lost my Mam back in 2016 to Sarcoma, she bravely fought for around 6 months after the diagnosis, but there was a very limited number of treatments available and even after seeing specialists privately, we were told not even the best of surgeons would operate on her. It was devastating, and even 6 years on, I will never forget watching her go through what she did. But do not read this and feel pity for my Mam! Or us. She was far too strong a woman to pity. She had the heart of a lion and comforted us with her strength, even though she was the one going through it.
I hope that in the future Sarcoma will have a better treatment rate and that the research and hard work done by Sarcoma UK and other charities will mean others can survive and overcome it. Just like we are seeing with the more common forms of cancer becoming more and more treatable as the science improves and more lives are saved.
I want to thank one of my closest friends Isaac Forster for doing this with me. You’re a good’n mate.
If you are reading this/making a donation then a massive thankyou from us, please help us smash that target !
Big love from Nathan, Isaac & the Cummiskey family x
