Story
I want to lose the weight this year and needed to ride 5,000 miles so that I can buy a new push bike so I thought that I would raise money at the same time that it would gave me the push and drive to see it to the end (and stay there).
I would like to lose up to 5 stone. So at the start of this I am 23 stone so have a lot of work to do.
Another aim is to ride 5,000 miles in 12 months and also get a ride in from Weston super mare to Lewis’s house in Southampton.
All money raised that goes to tree of hope will find its way to Lewis. Every penny goes to helping Lewis and enhance/improve his life!
Lewis is 5 years old and has been diagnosed with severe Quadraplegic Dystonic Cerebral Palsy, Severe gastric problems, epilepsy, Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disease, Gross Development Delay, Periventricular Leukomalacia, early myopia and has recently been diagnosed with Pancreatic Agenesis & borderline diabetes.
He is fed via a Gastro-Jejunostomy PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastro - jejunostomy) which feeds him directly into his small bowel due to an unsafe swallow & severe gastric irritation. He is attached to a feed pump for 16 hours a day.
He is such a smiler, full of love and laughter, yet cannot live life the way we would all like him to.
He is unable to sit, walk or talk but he is such an amazing little man. He will smile to all those around him and loves being sung to, watching Chuggington and watching his big brother Adam playing.
It was lovely to see how our own little miss Charlotte connected with Lewis in Cornwall 2013.
Despite his life being limited due to all his problems, we will do anything and everything to keep him smiling!!!
