Story

On Monday 8th May 2023 my father passed away after battling with numerous serious conditions including kidney disease and scleroderma.

the scleroderma meant many of my father blood vessels collapsed making things like installing a cannula near impossible and extremely painful. Eventually  requiring a picc line. It caused him great discomfort with swollen skin and painful and atrophied muscles.

My father sadly lost his battle with multiple conditions leaving his family heartbroken.

It seems there is little awareness of scleroderma and perhaps not as much fundraising as other better known and understood conditions. Scleroderma is a horrible disease that can effect the whole body including skin, muscle, blood vessels and internal organs. It can be truly debilitating and is an utterly horrific disease!!

I want to honour his memory and raise some funds for the scleroderma charity in a hope to do something positive in the aftermath of such a sad time.

I will be aiming to run as far as I can between now and next May including numerous events. The first event will be the race to the stones which a 100km point to point race. It may be biting off more than I can chew but I will give my all and complete as much of the 100km as I can.

As a family we would appreciate any support anyone can give. Thank you
