December 1st 2021 at just 17 years old, we sadly suddenly lost beautiful, kind, caring, funny Menai, Our Best Friends daughter, who we loved like a daughter!!
Everyone who had the absolute pleasure of having Menai in their life loved her so much and she loved you right back, a young woman whose smile lit up a room when she entered it and everyone misses her terribly, I wanted to do something to remember her and to raise some money for a charity that support families who have the absolute heartbreak of being bereaved of a child they have been nothing but incredible to our amazing friends and showed nothing but love, kindness, care. Support and above all helped Scott, Tracey and Dylan smile again x
So a group of us are going to walk the 17 miles (the age Menai was when we lost her) around Rutland water, to some of the group this will be lovely to others this is going to be a massive challenge, any small donation will make so much difference to a family that lose a child, thankyou so much it means the world for any donation.

The Bodie Hodges foundation
The Bodie Hodges Foundation is a Leicestershire based charity that supports families bereaved of a child, aged 18 and under. The charity was created in 2013 following the death of Bodie, to provide services that support families as they grieve. We have a clear vision of how we want our services to develop and strive to create supportive child bereavement community.
We provide a range of professional bereavement services that support families at the darkest time of their grief, but we also help to empower families that have been bereaved of a child. We rely on voluntary donations to provide our services free of charge so that no bereaved families are left to grieve alone.
Bodies Bereavement Services - Families can access 1-1 early therapeutic support and counselling services for up to 2 years after the death of their child. We also run a range of peer support groups including 'Chips and a Chat' our newest support group, created solely for bereaved dads.
Bodie's Treasured Memory Bags
We provide a bag filled with grief resources free of charge tom families following the death of a sibling or for those born after the death. We have 3 bags for ages 3-10 and 11-16 years and a sensory SEND bag that can be requested via our website.
Sibling Support - gentle 1-1 sessions with siblings at Bodie’s House, which help them to understand their grief and support memory making. Families can also access a host of free grief resources including workbooks and videos to offer additional support.
