London Marathon 2023

London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
The Mental Health Foundation is the UK's charity for everyone's mental health. Its main aim is prevention and addressing the sources of mental health problems.
The stigma of mental illness prevents sufferers from seeking the professional help and advice needed. After personally suffering from and overcoming anorexia & depression, mental health and this charity is very close to my heart. For this reason in April, I will be running the 26.2 miles, of the 2023 London Marathon.
At the age of 14, I was first diagnosed with a mental illness. At 22, I am still struggling, but access to treatment, support, and professional help have all aided my recovery and progress over the years. My personal battles have motivated me to show others that not only can they reach out and ask for help, but also that when it gets really tough, there's still a way out, and there are people out there that can support this. I will always struggle with motivation, which is why this marathon will prove my resilience and mental strength to myself and others.
I would like to help raise awareness of mental health, whilst taking action to increase public donations. I believe that The Mental Health Foundation is an imperative charity because it works to improve both the support available for individuals and the specific access to such help.
I appreciate your support and donations for such a worthy cause, which will go towards improving and combating mental health issues and supporting those who need it. All donations will help to make a difference.
Thank you.
