Walk in Her Name 2025

Fundraising for Ovarian Cancer Action
I'm joining thousands of others across the UK to Walk in Her Name this Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
I'll be walking 100km my way throughout March to raise money for a future where no woman dies of ovarian cancer.
This is so much more than a challenge - it's a collective step forward. It’s a rally for change and a beacon of hope for those affected by ovarian cancer.
By supporting my challenge you'll help fund lifesaving ovarian cancer research that will give women the best chance of survival.
For you, for her, for everyone. It's time to Walk in Her Name.

I’m walking in the name of Andrea Waterhouse.
Whilst it may not seem like much of a challenge to some, for me, at this stage in my life, it will be!! I’m still getting back to my previous fitness levels, finding my love for walking & hiking that I used to have, and navigating post-partum life.
And planning a day around breastfeeding, pumping and and Cooper’s nap schedule, well… that’s a challenge in itself 😂
Ovarian Cancer Action’s cause is very close to our hearts, and raising awareness is key to helping other women in future. The symptoms can often be mistaken for other issues, and it cannot be picked up during a smear test, so diagnosis in the later stages is far too common, and something I want to help try to eliminate.
My Mum was truly exceptional, and she worked tirelessly to raise money for charity, whilst going through such unimaginable pain herself. And no matter what she was going through, she always had a smile on her face; looking positively on what was to come.
I miss her every second of every day and I don’t want other families to go through what we have. I want women to meet their grandchildren.
As a lot of people know, grief doesn’t go away - you learn to live with that constant dark cloud of where they once were. What an amazing achievement it would be, if families didn’t have to go through this grief for something they could have been found earlier.
Grief can also be a great reminder to make sure you truly enjoy life. We only get one chance, so make sure it counts, in whatever way makes you happy. Soak up all the precious moments; find the remarkable in the ordinary.
So I’ll chuck my boots on and get walking, it’s the least I can do!
I appreciate any donation big or small, and if you aren’t able to donate, I would really appreciate this being shared.
