I was suppose to do a fundraising event at school to raise money for autism awareness in April, but due to unforseen circumstances that can't happen now. There is still another way to help raise money for this wonderful charity, which is close to my heart...
Just over a year ago it was suggested that our little beauty Isabel may be autistic and I'm not going to lie, it made feel very angry and upset. Why was someone saying this? How could you say such things about my sweet little girl? Well I'm so glad they did because without them saying that I would not be where I am today with it. They made me see the signs early and supported me in getting Isabel the right help. I suppose I struggled with the fact that she could be autistic and where I had no idea what autism was, I didn't see it. She was showing, what I now know to be autistic traits but she was also doing such amazing things, her singing, alphabet, numbers etc which was unbelievable in my eyes for her age so I was always doubting that she was autistic or second guessing myself all the time. I also now know how wide the spectrum is and after doing relentless amount of research, attending conferences and workshops just how unique, amazing and different each child with ASD is. On the 12th February this year it was confirmed and Isabel finally got her autism diagnosis. It has been a very emotional rollercoaster and I have cried a lot through it. I felt relieved, sad, angry, hopeful, somewhat happy but that's more to do with now I can help her get the right help she will need. Autism is apart of who she is and it does not define her. That little girl makes me laugh and smile every single day. I love her ways, her constant singing as that is the heart of her, her cleverness and the fact that shes so loving. She is just amazing and continues to surprise me every day with the things she does and says 🌈♥️
