We aim to grant the magical Wishes to children with life threatening illnesses

Story

Last year when Daisy opened the last door of her advent calendar she asked if she could keep it and reuse it; “you could put different challenges behind each door for me to complete daily, I could raise money for doing it”. Daisy spent time thinking about the challenges gaining ideas from family and friends and considering a cause.

For 25 days, Daisy will complete one challenge a day.
These challenges vary from a 2mile swim, to a danceathon, to a sponsored silence, to a 30 mile bike ride, a litter pick a 3hr bounce!! And many more. Daisy is hoping through doing these challenges she can raise money for When you wish upon a star charity (We step in when our families need it the most. We are their front line support when they are facing unimaginable times never knowing what the future may bring and for some of our families where time is very much against them.  At times it can be difficult to imagine a life without illness, one where a child can play with friends, smile and enjoy their childhood like any other healthy child.   When a family applies to us for a Wish they are often referred to us by their medical team or extended family. Their child may live with a life threatening illness, have been newly diagnosed, going through treatments, in remission and for some of our families we proudly support Wishes for their children who are receiving end of life palliative careThe power of a child’s Wish adds magic to their lives,  it offers a chance of escapism from their day to day routine, hospital appointments and treatments. A Wish can also support rehabilitation and daily therapy and sensory needs to support the child and their extended family.

We believe every child deserves to smile, a Wish gives our children and their family so much hope, increases the child’s confidence and have even been reported to show an improvement in the child’s physical as well as their mental health.   From these experiences along with precious and important memories that are made the children and families draw strength, courage and the resilience to carry on).

Challenges will be posted daily and I’m sure Daisy will enjoy going live where possible!!
