Story
It has always been my dream to volunteer abroad and whilst wandering around university one day I came across a poster for Challenges Abroad. Challenges abroad are part of the Future Sense group which supports community development around the world. The FutureSense group coordinates volunteers and raises funds to support overseas partners and volunteer programmes through its UK-registered charity, the FutureSense Foundation.
The Foundation targets education, child welfare, livelihoods and other selected areas as a means to address a range of development issues. Charity fundraising is a central component of the Foundation’s work and allows it to support those volunteering abroad and to invest in underprivileged individuals and communities as it works towards:
Improving education
Relieving poverty
Helping create sustainable and secure livelihoods
Improving the transfer of vocational and entrepreneurial skills
Addressing issues related to health and HIV/AIDS
Promoting child welfare
Empowering people living with disabilities
Enabling voluntary participation and cultural exchange
The funds that the FutureSense Foundation provides are distributed in a number of ways. They can be invested into large-scale projects that improve school infrastructures and community centres, or they can assist individuals more directly, through tuition fee grants and macro-business programmes.
By donating you will be sponsoring me to go to Battambang which is a small village in Cambodia where I will spend 3 weeks in August 2014 helping do such things as; building classrooms, painting libraries and constructing safe environments for children to play such as playgrounds from recycled materials. A donation makes such a huge difference to these people lives and contributes to the cost of materials needed.
So all I can really say is I hope you can help me reach my target by donating and thank you so much for visiting my page :)
