We are raising money to help support Jessops Maternity Wing in Sheffield.
For us we especially want to help the Bereavement Services and support all that they do for every family that are unfortunate to need their services.
We were extremely unlucky with our daughter Mylie but the support we received from our midwifes, our doctors and the bereavement team was amazing.
We want to help raise this money to benefit any other families that may travel this hard road, we want to help raise awareness of still births and help try to prevent the unfortunately happen in the future.
In July 2018, we found out we were expecting our Rainbow baby after 3 early miscarriages in 2017 & 2018. Even though we had an extremely rough road we made it passed the ‘12 weeks’ safety net and planned for our future.
At our 20 weeks Scan we expected to see our baby girl happy and healthy. Unfortunately we found out she was measuring small, along the 7th centile. We were ask to wait another 2 weeks and then was seen by Rotherham’s specialist. At 22 weeks this specialist discovers our little girl was now growing on the 4% centile which was extremely small.
After this we transferred to the FMU at Jessops Maternity Ward where our daughter was diagnosed with SIUGR (severe inter uterine growth restrictions) due to a very poorly placenta.
At 24 weeks we had reduced movements and we rushed to hospital, pre-eclampsia has started and our daughter Mylie wasn’t receiving the nutrients to keep her alive. We were told she would never grow enough to grace our world with her presence... a day later her heart stopped....Mylie Grace was born sleeping on the 20th December 2018.
The Doctors, the Midwifes and the Bereavement team at Jessops made the hardest time of our lives so much more easy and acceptable... without them we would of been lost forever.
