Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be running the London Marathon on 23rd April 2023 to raise money for Mind - the mental health charity.
I am by no means a natural runner, prior to signing up for the London Marathon I had never run beyond 5km! I am taking on this monumental personal challenge to raise awareness of the struggles that individuals face with their mental health every single day. I will be running in memory of my beautiful brother Nicky.
Many people are fighting an inner battle that unfortunately we cannot see or they may not be able to speak about. Suicide is now the biggest killer of men and boys aged between 9 and 50 years old. Those who do ask for help are often met with silence, and they can wait up to 4 years for treatment. With your help Mind can make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.
Here's what your donations can provide:
£20 - helps run the charity's online peer support community (Side By Side) for an hour, helping people connect with others and feel less alone.
£40 - helps fund vital mental health support through the charity's local Mind network, allowing people to access support in their local community.
£60 - helps Mind campaign and call on the UK Governmnent to fund a network of early support hubs. This will make sure young people have somewhere to go when they first start to struggle with their mental health.
£100 - helps pay for one of Mind's Infoline Advisors. They can make sure, when someone is ready to ask for help, that they won’t be met with silence.
Here are just a few examples of the great work that Mind do:
- Offering a Telephone Support Service to anyone in need.
- Campaigning for change in mental health services including legislation, support, treatment and legal rights.
- Offering a range of national and local services including workplace training to develop mentally healthy offices, applied suicide intervention skills, Mental Health First Aid and bespoke training sessions.
Thank you for all of your support
Lots of love,
Natasha xx
