Story
On the 19th February 2014 Derek Heslop had a tragic accident at Work and the Great North Air Ambulance flew him to the RVI were he had emergency surgery on his brain. Unfortunately the surgery wasn’t successful and one week later he sadly died. If it wasn’t for the GNAAS getting him to hospital so soon, surgery would not have been an option and his loved ones would never have had the chance to say their goodbyes.
Due to Covid and a few injuries, lock down babies and pregnancies our team has went from 12 to 7 but we can still do what we can to raise as much money as we can for the Great North Air Ambulance. The team of 6 is a combination of Dereks friends and family (Hayley, Matt, Dan, Colin, Bekki, Adam & Gav) and a junior team (Leah, Lydia & Sophia)
Please donate whatever you can to support such an amazing charity. A quick reminder, the GNAAS don’t receive any government funding and solely rely on public donations so anything is gladly welcomed.
You never know when you or a loved one may need them.
Thank you,
