Story

In August 2016 my good friend shared the news that her mum had been diagnosed with MSA-Multiple System Atrophy. It is a degenerative neurological disease that affects men and women. It is caused by atrophy or shrinking of nerve cells in several areas of the brain which can result in problems with movement, balance and autonomic functions of the body such as bladder control and blood pressure. Her speech and balance is already affected and sadly this disease will lead to premature death. Money raised for MSA will help patients like my friend's mum to manage their symptoms and receive specialist multi-professional support and care as life moves forward and evolves.

I cannot imagine how I would feel if this was my mum but I know I would want to do everything possible to make her time left with me comfortable, special and memorable. So if doing a bit of fundraising can make even a marginal, positive impact then I am game.

Please sponsor me to do this mental 1000 mile challenge and rest assured that the donations are going to an excellent charity very close to my heart. Thank you.
