Story
Our story began on the morning of 12th April 2021. A day which turned out to be the start of a very long journey for our family.
After a life threatening heart attack and two strokes, our Mum Judy spent eight weeks at St Thomas' hospital fighting her way through each hurdle that came her way.
It was eight weeks of daily visits to the hospital, countless calls to nurses, and meetings with doctors and consultants whilst our mum was in an induced coma.
As each day passed, we watched all of the incredible staff take such good care of our Mum in Intensive Care. Their long 12 hour shifts, their never ending kindness, and their compassion throughout the night we were called to the hospital to say goodbye to mum.
The very next day, mum made a remarkable turn and continued on her amazing road to recovery.
Thankfully we were blessed with a happy ending and we welcomed Mum home on 5th June surviving all the odds 🙏🏽
At a time where there is so much uncertainty, the ICU staff gave us peace each day knowing mum was in their hands.
We will never be able to thank them enough for saving our Mum and will forever be in their debt.
The work they do is nothing short of a miracle!
Thank you to all of the amazing NHS staff on ICU unit 6 - this is for you ❤️
