London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
I’m finally running the LONDON MARATHON 2022!!
After getting a place in 2019 and training over half way TWICE for the marathon in 2020 to be cancelled TWICE and continuing to fundraise by taking part in the 26.2 challenge, the virtual Marathon and the Oxford Half marathon we are finally on our way to the finish line of the London Marathon!! EK
Fingers crossed we get there...... In the mean time....
I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer's Society a charity that is very close to mine and my family’s hearts.
The Alzheimer's Society is the only UK charity investing in research into dementia care, cause, cure and prevention. They fight for the rights of everyone affected by dementia and have support services to help people to keep doing the things they enjoy.
Our family has been and still is affected by Dementia. Through my childhood I watched my Nana suffer with dementia and in 2018 we lost our much loved Uncle Bert who also suffered from this awful disease. Through out his illness Alzheimer's Society were there to support my Uncle and my Auntie with information, guidance and care.
I have seen first hand what this awful disease can do to loved ones which is why I need you to help me to raise loads of money for this great charity so that they can continue to research into finding a cure and support the loved ones that suffer.
'We are united to create a world without dementia'
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
