Story
I am running in memory of our twin baby girls, Daisy & Georgie, who were born at 25 weeks & both lived for just 1 day in December 2016. And our miracle baby girl, Livvie, who is nearly 1.
After loosing our twin girls we went on to have 2 miscarriages. It was such a heartbreaking time. We were devastated. The grief, compounding loss & sadness massively affected my mental health... and there was never any reason why. We had completely given up hope of ever bringing a baby home & felt completely lost.
We were then referred to Professor Quenby & the Tommy’s Team at UHCW in Coventry on 9 March 2018. The picture above is Sean & I at our first appointment.
Professor Quenby is one of the UK’s leading experts in pre-term delivery & recurrent miscarriage... & happened to be based just down the road in Coventry. Her & her team undertake trials & pioneering research, funded by Tommy’s, into the reasons why early labour & miscarriage happen.
On 10 March 2019, almost a year to the day since our first meeting with Professor Quenby, we had our beautiful baby girl, Livvie.
We were supported by Professor Quenby & the team in the Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic & Pre-Term Delivery Clinics. The protocol we were under alongside the level of care & support we received has literally changed our lives. We have our beautiful Livvie here with us... & I am so so grateful.
I am delighted to have the opportunity to give back to this wonderful charity to whom we owe so much.
