Story
As many of you may remember, I took part in this event last year - losing a fair amount of weight, some of which went back on again with the lunacy of the last year!
This year, I have taken a different approach - whilst weight loss is really important, I have interacted more with some of the experts that the hospice have provided to support the group through the 12 weeks. So I've now got a very lovely personal trainer who is patiently trying to get my body to the stage where I can achieve my dream of running a half marathon - I've got a VERY long way to go with various joint aches and pains and have had an amazing conversation with a nutritionalist who completely reshaped my way of thinking about food, habits etc.
Anyway, enough of me. As you will all probably also know, mum died at the hospice in 2017. I have saved the launch of this fundraiser (I've been on the programme since January 4th, so not far off halfway through) until today, as it would have been her 75th birthday. Blinking through tears whilst writing this, I miss her every day, even though I found her quite hard work at times, she was still Ma and Granny to me and the girls.
I don't like asking for sponsorship at the moment because I recognise how hard times are for everyone, but if you have a couple of quid to spare, the hospice would really appreciate it - they do magnificent work, all of which has continued throughout the last 12 months, with a much decreased income.
Much love xxx
