Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
It's Mr Ferreday we have to blame for getting us involved in this...."its just a walk" he said, "it'll be a laugh".
Yes 52 miles of walking that'll take us up to 24 hours to complete and see us walking through a Saturday night when we should be chilling with a beer and a takeaway!
And then you look into the charity it's for and realise how lucky you are and that it's not such a hardship after all.
Sense support deafblind adults and children, their families and carers to help reduce the impacts of this isolating disability. They rely heavily on donations and with the numbers of people affected set to rise heavily as people live longer its important that this support continues.
£5 could buy a set of musical bells to help stimulate even the tiniest amount of a deafblind childs hearing in music therapy
£15 for a tactile book to develop a child's sense of sight & touch at a Sense family centre
Please, Please give what you can to support us in our challenge.
We'll be keeping this page posted with updates so feel free to revist (and re-donate!) to see how we're getting on.
Great Big Thankyou - from all the team x
PS - a special thanks to Vicky Coates and Sophie Levell, two lovely ladies who have very kindly offered to be our support team for the event.
Update 1 - 12th March
So, we spent last Friday night walking 13 miles around Sutton Coldfield.....boy do we know how to enjoy ourselves. Leigh pulled the route together and between him and Paul we were treated to a guided tour of Sutton, 'this is where I play football', 'I've played golf there', 'that's so and so's house' thrilling stuff.
It took just under four hours to complete the route which we were more than happy with. In fairness the boys got more than they bargained for when about half way round when they were treated to the sight of a semi clad luscious lovely whilst stalking sorry I meant passing a house down one of the lanes. This spurred them on no end!
With our spirits and confidence up we're arranging a 25miler for April. In the meantime we need to start some serious fundraising....which is where you all come in. Please help!
