Here I am sitting here thinking why am I doing this to myself again but there is a very good reason. Last year I told Mike how I wanted to be able to run The Great East Run (not like last time when I did no training and simply did it on the day... major oops and Mike thought I was a bit silly too!) This time I want to run it properly and train to do the best that I can do in his memory! 

I am raising money for Ipswich hospitals Somersham ward/Woolverston ward who were involved in a great deal of Mike's care and doctors and nurses who all were very helpful and always available. My Mum also received radiotherapy treatment here, who is a cancer survivor! So it has a close place in my heart! 

A few months back a good friend of mine, Elishar , unfortunately relapsed and is now facing a repeat of the treatment she received last year. Life is just not fair sometimes but I know that Elishar is one hell of a strong cookie and will beat it second time round. LOVE YOU ELM!
