Story
After picking up running again with my lovely sister-in-law Gemma during the last lockdown and watching “Brittany runs a marathon”, I thought it would be a good idea to enter the great north run again….15 years and two babies after the first time I did it!! Needless to say it is a bit harder now than it was back then!!
When my son Samuel was 9 months old he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and the cause was due to a stroke he had when I was pregnant, something I wasn’t even aware could happen. Consequently I decided to run for #TeamStroke to help raise awareness and funding to understand why and prevent this from happening to others.
There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes. Stroke Association believes everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. Your support will help them to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments. Help me raise as much as possible to help rebuild lives after stroke - thank you!
