Story
Hi,
Firstly thank you for taking time to read my story, my name is Natalie Power and I am climbing snowdon via the Crib Goch route with my partner Phil on either the 12th or 13th may (the walk will take place on either date, currently organising travel arrangements) in memory of my mam Karen holt who I lost in March 2019 to a glioblastoma grade 4 brain tumour. My mam was given around 14 months at the time of diagnosis with treatment options for her tumour very limited to chemotherapy and radiotherapy . This was only to prolong her life for longer as this was a terminal diagnosis as is the case for many brain tumour patients. There is currently only 2% funding on the nhs with regards to brain tumours and my hope is that I can raise some money to go towards vital research in finding a cure so no other families and patients have to go through the devastating effect and ultimate loss that this disease causes. My mam Karen was only 60 when we lost her and had her time on earth cut short when she still had so much life left to live. Anybody who has lost a love of any kind to a brain tumour will know just how cruel and ruthless this disease is, I want to climb snowdon via Crib Goch as it will challenge us mentally and physically however a cure simply cannot wait. Let’s beat this heartbreaking disease together.
Thank you,
Natalie x
