I will be travelling to Ethiopia in November this year to carry out charity work. In order to do this I am required to raise £2000 to benefit the charity.

Ethiopiaid's objectives are to relieve poverty and sickness to preserve and protect health and to advance education amongst Ethiopians who are in need. Ethiopia is one of the world's poorest countries, and relies on overseas aid and the work of charities in order to provide basic services.

£100 will make give 20 children a chance for the future

£50 will help 10 children recover from malnutrition

£25 will save the lives of 5 children

Ethiopiaid focuses on one country

Ethiopia. By fundraising solely for causes in this country, we are able to concentrate our funds in one area and use our donors' money effectively. Indeed, most of our 20 partners are located in the country's capital, Addis Ababa, and surrounding areas. This allows an integrated approach to help make a difference for the whole community.

Ethiopiaid breaks the "colonial" mould

Rather than sending ex-pats to Ethiopia, we raise funds for local, Ethiopian-run charities. These organisations can make a great difference for very little money and are the means by which long-term sustainable change can be achieved.

We give Ethiopians, who already hold the answers to issues being faced in Ethiopia today, the extra help they need to solve these problems for themselves. We don't want a quick fix. We want lasting change.
