Story
On the 10th October, I run my first ever marathon in Manchester alongside running club friends, Jon and Lucy.
We have trained hard over the last six months. Not only to keep ourselves sane during lockdown restrictions, but, more importantly, to raise money to help re-home unwanted pets.
All three of us are genuinely passionate about the welfare of animals, who have suffered because of the pandemic.
Rescue centres have been inundated with requests to look after unwanted dogs until they can be re-homed.
Benny, one of my gorgeous four-legged clients, came from Rain Rescue. He is a beautiful well behaved dog. He has the best life ever now, but it could have been so different if he hadn’t been given such a loving home.
Rain Rescue, an independent rescue centre in South Yorkshire, is a safe haven for local neglected, abandoned, abused dogs and cats. The incredible people at Rain don’t receive any government or lottery funding. Money is normally raised by a willing band of voluntary fund raisers, which this year includes me, Jon and Lucy adding our Sheffield steel to a truly great cause.
Let us help Rain Rescue. Together we can do Benny (and all the other cats and dogs) proud by raising some much needed funds.
Thank you for supporting us. We will run as hard as we can on Sunday in the ironically named Rainy City!!! We want to see as much money pour in as possible. Please share this page with friends and family.
