On the 10th of October 2021 I will be taking part in the Manchester marathon to raise money for Alzheimer's Society.  This will be my first marathon and I will be running the marathon in memory of my grandad who sadly passed away in August this year.  The latter part of my grandad’s life was seriously impacted by dementia which robbed him of his independence.  It was heart breaking for all to see an inspirational and strong individual change beyond recognition.

Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer.  Someone develops it every three minutes and there’s currently no cure.  Alzheimer’s Society do a great job of supporting families in need, as well as putting money into researching the causes of dementia as the disease becomes more common with our ageing population.
