Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So Iv spent some time debating about doing a half marathon and finally decided to sign up for this years one. For me its going to be an amazing achievement and something I will be so proud to say I have completed. But then I found myself thinking how great it would be to share my happiness, and that's when I decided to raise some money for charity.
I have chosen School for Parents because I spent alot of my early working career supporting disabled young children and personally understand how important it is to have services like this in place for these families. After hearing from a close friend how supportive they have been for her and her son, but they need any funding available, it clicked. I will run the marathon and raise some money for School for Parents.
Schools for Parents is a Nottingham-based charity that supports babies and pre-school children that have difficulties with: speech, motor skills (movement), social and emotional skills and cognitive skills (thinking). These difficulties may be caused by cerebral palsy or other motor disorders. The also run other specialist projects to help support children with down syndrome with their communication skills.
Just to add this half marathon is not going to be a walk in the park for me, its 13 and a half miles and I can only run about 6 at a push. So please spare what you can, its going to a fantastic cause and we could help to make that little bit of difference to a child's life.
