Story
Those who know me know that I am a cyclist out of necessity rather than enjoyment and I have the top speed of a sporty 7 year old boy (proven during a short Richmond Park cycle). So this summer I have decided to move out of my comfort zone for those who struggle to move at all. I am taking the Prudential Ride 100miles challenge in aid of the MS society.
Multiple Sclerosis affects 100 000 people in the UK alone, and my Mother is one of them. Diagnosed with relapsing and remitting MS in 2001, my Moms immune system started to attack her nervous system, making common signals between her brain and her muscles difficult to carryout, resulting in difficulty walking, talking, and writing. Luckily Mom has an intermittent form of the disease and suffers momentarily and infrequently from these attacks. Others are not so lucky, and are left paralysed and dependant on carers.
The MS society needs your help to fund crucial research as we look for a cure for this debilitating disease.
Any donation big or small will be much appreciated. Lets get people talking about MS, raise awareness and find a cure!
