Story

Hi all,

As some close family and friends may be aware, our mum has recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and Lewis came up with the fab idea for us to raise some money with all the walking we are doing in lockdown.

We planned to do an event this year to raise money for cancer research, like tough mudder/Banchory beast or something along these lines but due to COVID we thought that these wouldn’t go ahead this year and really wanted to raise some money for charity. We saw the Target Ovarian charity’s post on their Run for Mum event which is usually between 9am-4pm on Mother’s Day to run for mother’s which have been effected by ovarian cancer. We decided to go a little further as the requirements are 5K,10K or a half marathon. We did a little research (well Lewis did) and saw that 41,000 women are living with ovarian cancer in the UK so we thought we’d do a meter for every one of those ladies.

As we thought our legs may fall off if we decided to tackle 41K in a day, we’ve decided to split it into two 20K walks in which we will walk over Mother’s Day weekend (don’t worry mum this isn’t the replacement for a present!).

I know times are tough but please give what you can, if you can.

We love you Lynney! You can do this.

Love from,

Lewis, Ailie, Natalie & Kenneth

Xx
