Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in January 2012. My diagnosis was a huge shock at the time to me, my husband and of course my family and friends but my attitude from the start has been positive, I was not and will not let this horrible disease get the better of me. I want to grow old with my husband and hopefully (fingers crossed) be blessed with the child we so dearly wish for. I have gone through a mastectomy and immediate reconstruction, 6 cycles of chemo and 25 sessions of radiotherapy and if I can get through all that, then I don't see why I can't get through a 10 mile walk for a charity that is very close to my own heart.
When I was first diagnosed, a friend suggested joining a forum so that I could talk to others in the same situation as me. I must admit, I did dismiss the comment to start with but then got thinking, what was there to lose? I joined, I posted a few times before and during my operation, and then came chemo. I was scared stiff until I came accross a post called "Starting chemo in April 2012". Little did I know that the women talking in this post would become my very dearest friends, that we would get each other through the horribleness of chemo, radiotheraphy and beyond.
I will be carrying out this walk with some of these very special ladies, my fellow bunnies, and if you can afford to part with some pennies, please sponsor us and help us raise some much needed funds for Breast Cancer Care. I don't know what I would have done without this charity, they have been my lifeline to so much help and support, and for that I am truly thankful.
