Story
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-limiting genetic condition affecting more than 10,000 people across the UK. It affects the lungs and digestive system and can cause chronic infections and reduced lung function. It can also drastically shorten the lifespan of those who suffer from CF. Raquel, a close friend of mine, suffered from this condition and sadly passed away in October 2017. Even though most of the symptoms of CF are not visible, the pain that it causes to the sufferers and to the people surrounding them is unreal. Therefore I would like to run the London landmarks half marathon for Raquel and for all the people who are still suffering from CF, as the Cystic Fibrosis Trust fight to provide support for people with CF and their families and fund research. I would also like to raise awareness of Cystic fibrosis so that people with CF can get the best care and services they need in the future.
