Story
I became more aware about the horrors of FGC after reading Ayaan Hirsi Ali's book Infidel:My Life (read it, both she and the book are amazing!) Sure I knew about it before, but her story impacted me so much, to the point where I wanted to know how much of this awful practise still continues and how to stop it.
That is how I found Orchid Project, which has a a deadline to stop this inhuman action towards women and girls by 2030. 4.1 million girls are still at risk each year in 45 countries and over 200 million women and girls are impacted by it. The team and people who work at Orchid Project are so lovely and so determined that I needed to get involved.
I wanted to do The Camino because I did a small part of it in 2019 when I was going through a tough patch and I felt massively healed by it. So I thought right, in 2020, I'll do the full version and try heal this injustice against women and girls.Yes is was hard and there were days getting fully soaked walking for hours uphill thinking WHAT ARE YOU DOING, CHECK INTO A HOTEL AND HAVE A WARM BATH WTH A GLASS OF WINE AND GO HOME but it is quite a thing to do, I recommend it to everyone! The beauty of the nature and the humans you meet are frankly, inspiring.
Help me help them stop the physical, emotional and psychological trauma inflicted on the the female gender worldwide and donate, even a pound helps!
Thank you for reading this and all my heartfelt thanks to those that donate.

After 861km stomped though blazing heat and pissing rain Nat is passing me the fundraising baton as I continue the walk from Santiago to Lisbon for the incredible work Orchid Project are doing to end FGC. Please donate if you can to help end FGC by 2030.
