Story
When Noah was transferred to LGI in June 2020, The Sick Children’s Trust kindly provided me with a warm, safe comfortable place to stay which was minutes away from Noah.
Some parents stay a few days but, for others like me it was months and I will always feel indebted to Jane and everyone at Eckersley House. During the pandemic they were running at half capacity and sadly had to close the communal areas. When restrictions eased, the kitchens opened up and I was able to meet and talk to other parents. This was so important during a tough and isolating time when it was only parent who could visit.
My family and I have made several donations over the past year and would still like to support this wonderful charity so this January I am taking part in the Squat for The Sick Children’s Trust campaign.
With three categories to go for (considering I’m not a fitness person.:.) I’m aiming for Gladiator which equates to approximately 30 squats a day which is quite do-able. However I do want to aim for Titan (especially as Noah likes Teen Titans!)
- Warrior – 300 squats
- Gladiator – 900 squats
- Titan – 3,000 squats
As it’s Noah’s birthday this month, I would love anyone to donate to this cause instead of buying him presents. Especially as we have just had Christmas and Noah and ourselves would much prefer presence over presents - by being very safe of course when hopefully Covid settles down.
It costs The Sick Children's Trust £30 to support a family for one night in one of their 'Homes from Home'. Every little really does help and keep families together. They rely solely on donations and do an incredible job every single day.
Thank you so much for your support!
