Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This is my friend Louise, she is 37, married and a full time mummy to two small children, Isabelle and Harry.
In 2014, Louise was devastatingly diagnosed with Lymphangiolemyomastosis ( LAM), a rare lung disease that occurs almost exclusively in women. It is very rare and effects just over one woman in a million.
LAM predominantly affects the lungs, where it causes excessive growth of smooth muscle cells which progressively destroy lung tissue and erode lung function. Although research is ongoing, there is no current cure for LAM. Louise's lungs are now only working at 34% of their capacity.
As you can imagine, this has had a dramatic impact on Louise and her family's life.
On Saturday 9th May, a group of us will be running/walking to raise awareness of LAM and also raise as much money as we can for the charity LAM Action. We hope to raise vital funding for research; not only to help those with LAM, but also their families who deal with the effects of this devastating disease on their loved ones.
Any amount you are able to sponser me will be hugely appreciated - thank you xx
