Story
Alhamdulillah the Forest Gate Masjid started back in 1992 since then it has been serving the local ummah with great eagerness and sincerity. Our elders Khan Saab (rah), Salik Chowdhury (rah), Giash Uddin (rah), Muklisur Rahman (rah) and Abdur Rokib with other committee members started what is known today as Forest Gate Masjid and Imam ZakariyaAcademy.
1)There are children learning hifdh of quran everyday.
2)They have adult hifdh class at least 3 evenings a week.
3) Its a primary school for our young children to study the national curriculum with Islamic ethos.
4) A thorough alimiyyah programme is taught across 7 years.
5) There are study programmes for sisters that run throughout the week.
6) There is a 2 year diploma course for those who are really busy and cant do 5 days a week alim programme.
7) There were free seerah classes that were running every week until lockdown.
8) Most importantly its a masjid holding 5 prayers a day and jummah. The worshippers there are very concerned with dawah and spreading Islam. It is not strange to find 10-15 people breaking their fast together on Mondays and Thursdays after Maghrib.
This all takes place in a crowded masjid with very little space. Yet, Allah facilitates so much khayr from it. We are desperately in need of the space so the work can expand in sha Allah.
