Story
This year we have 2 relay teams ready to pound the streets of Belfast with 4 of the team taking on the full 26 miles!!!! #fearless
These brave souls are all doing this to help raise vital funds to enable us to continue to support and provide activities to our members.
Not only do we have this lovely lot running to help raise vital funds, but we also have one participant who is not only undertaking the Belfast Marathon but also facing the iconic London Marathon just 1 week before the Belfast challenge. NAS Ards' boy wonder, action man, our very own version of Bear Grylls....Noel Eager is running to help vital raise funds so that we can continue to provide support and activities for our members.
The National Autistic Society Newtownards Branch was founded by a local parent back in 2008 and is now a registered charity supporting children on the Autistic Spectrum and their families. A group of dedicated parent volunteers runs NAS Newtownards.
Currently, we have over 280 families registered from all over Northern Ireland. We run many activities for our families, such as fortnightly clubs, swimming lessons, sibling groups, cinema mornings and a summer residential to name just a few. At all our activities parents remain and this provides a chance to chat and share experiences and support. We receive no government funding and all funds are raised by the committee and our members.
