Story
Hello!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Well I can't believe it's nearly a year ago that I ran my first Cardiff Half Marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thank you once again to everyone who sponsored me and helped in raising an incredible...£1,124.04!!!
It was such a great day and a real personal achievement and so I have decided to do it again!
This time I am running the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 19th October 2008 on behalf of Parkinson's Disease Society.
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurological condition affecting movements such as walking, talking and writing. It occurs as a result of a loss of nerve cells in the part of the brain known as the substantia nigra.
In the UK one in 500 people, that's around 120,000 individuals have Parkinson's. About 10,000 people in the UK are diagnosed each year.
I have recently completed a 9 week university project looking at sleep disturbances in PD. Through home visits I met so many inspirational people and it was a real eye opener to see how the disease affects not only patients and their day-to-day activities but their carers too.
Parkinson's Disease Society (PDS) was established in 1969 and is the leading UK charity fighting Parkinson's on all fronts.
On behalf of my legs and PDS, I would really appreciate any donations from you, no matter how small! So please dig deep and take a moment to sponsor me online.
It's really easy - you can donate online by credit or debit card at the following address:
http://www.justgiving.com/naomipotter
All donations are secure and sent electronically to Parkinson's Disease Society.
If you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement are added, so your donation is worth even more.

Many thanks for sponsoring me and for donating to Parkinson's Disease Society!
Best wishes
Naomi (Nams) xxxx
