We train Medical Alert & Bio Detection Dogs to save lives by detecting human disease

Story

Having done 5 marathons, and being told I shouldn’t run long distances anymore, I needed a new personal challenge to honour all that Medical Detection Dogs through Richmond has done for not just Jamie but also me.
Some how not only did I decide it would be fun to walk 106km round the entire of the Isle of Wight I’ve also managed to convince Donna Diver that it a good idea 😂.

Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to save lives using their amazing sense of smell.Dogs are the best bio-sensors. They can detect odours as tiny as a teaspoon of sugar in 2 Olympic sized swimming pools. With your help we can train more of these amazing dogs, so our Medical Alert Dogs can help more people with complex healthcare needs live safe in the knowledge they have a furry life-saver by their side and do more research to give medics the tools they need for faster, more reliable, non-invasive diagnosis of cancer and other diseases.
