At six month old my niece Tabitha became seriously ill with a common cold virus. The virus entered her lungs and has left her with irreversible Chronic Lung Disease. This has had a huge impact on her whole family. Tabitha has many admissions to a specialist hospital, she sleeps with a machine that blows air into her lungs which supports her breathing at night, she requires physiotherapy twice a day, is always on various strong medication and has oxygen at home. My sister is no longer able to maintain employment due to hospital admissions and the huge amount of clinic appointments and support Tabitha requires. She has recently trained in I. V administration so Tabitha’s hospital admissions can be shortened and they can be at home as a family.

My sister and I decided we would like to make a difference and help both Tabitha and those in her position. The Puffin Appeal raises money to help care and support children with specialist breathing problems. The charity help purchase vital equipment that Tabitha and other children like her require for both admissions in  hospital, and so families can be supported at home( with equipment) in the hope to maintain as normal a life as possible.

I run because my lungs allow me to. please help me raise money for children who are unable to do this simple thing i take for granted.
