So far to date, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance have flown 3526 missions, most of which are life threatening injuries caused by road traffic collisions, sports injuries and they also attend patients who may have collaped for whatever reason. The helicopter is called out several times a day throughout the year and in all weathers.

To keep this vital piece of equipment flying, it can cost up to £7000 a day. Myself and my partners sister were lucky enough to meet the crew and have a look round the helicopter a few years ago; they do an amazing job and the charity is run purely on donations rather than funding from the government.
