Story
The Rowans Hospice offered fantastic support for my family during what was a very difficult & emotional time for us all back in January 2020. From counselling during anxiety-ridden phone calls and endless cups of tea, to midnight home visits and healthcare support - we were fortunate to receive their help F2F before the first lockdown. However, like many other hospices & care homes around the UK, the COVID pandemic hit the team hard.
With social distancing in place, the Rowans team have had to limit not only their F2F care & support, but also the number of volunteers on their roster who can support staff and fundraise. Needless to say it's been a challenging 18 months.
To say thanks to the Rowans Hospice and to support in the little way I can, I'll be taking on the Great South Run this October to raise money for their ongoing, and incredible care & support for those at end-of-life and their family.
On a personal note this is a huge feat for me - after spending the first 22 years of my life as a full-on couch potato I can easily say that a 10mile run along Portsmouth's windy coast will be my biggest sporting challenge yet, and I can't wait!
Whatever you can give, please do - you'll get a massive hug from me (and a cheeky pint if that sweetens the deal!).
LOVE AND HUGS,
Nay xx
