Story
Having worked at First Steps ED in the Children and Young Person's team for the past 7 months, I have seen first hand the impact eating disorders have not only on a young person, but their whole family. Within my job, I strive to help those affected by eating disorders, whether that be providing person centred one-to-one support, running our 'Wellbeing Workshop', or delivering body image workshops at schools across the Midlands to ensure we are providing intervention at an early stage. Sadly, with the number of eating disorders dramatically rising, funding has never been more important to ensure we can reach those affected and provide valuable interventions. Therefore, to raise awareness of First Steps ED, I'm heading across the border to take on the Cardiff Half Marathon in fancy dress (recommendations for this are very welcome!). Please give anything you can to not only help support me on my 13.1 mile quest to the finish line, but to enable First Steps to continue providing vital support to those affected by eating disorders.
First Steps ED is an award-winning and quality assured eating disorder charity working across the Midlands to offer care and support to adults, children and young people. The team are on hand to provide coping strategies and recovery services to individuals of all ages, genders and backgrounds. Our founding principles are built up from experts from experience, offering a service that helps those living with an eating disorder and their families, as well as break down the stigma around eating disorders.
