HELPING OUT IN COLOMBIA!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page :D

As most of you know, I'm currently in uni studying Spanish and sociology at Cardiff. As part of my course I will be spending a year in a Spanish speaking country hopefully getting my Spanish up to scratch!

It was always my intention to combine community development and learning Spanish so instead of joining my classmates in Spain I have decided to undertake humanitarian volunteering in Colombia for 6 months from September with the charity ICYE, where I will be placed with a community development NGO, providing support to vulnerable people and promoting basic human rights.

The people of Colombia are currently facing huge social and environmental problems as a result of industrial development and conflict of resources. During my time there I hope to be able to engage with Colombian people and provide support where I can.

But I won't  be able to do all this without the help of you lovely generous people! By the time I go I will need to raise £3795 for ICYE, which will partly fund an inter-cultural exchange for a Colombian volunteer in the UK.

As well as depending on your donations, I have planned a fun-filled summer of activities to fund raise for my trip. Watch this space for updates on sponsored cycle-rides, mountain walks and Welsh/Colombian themed parties!
