Story
I have decided to run my first Marathon this year. The London Marathon is taking place on Sunday 2nd October 2022. Why?
Many of you will know that I lost my mum at 19 in very traumatic circumstances. Over the years, myself and my family have had to overcome many challenges as we tried to come to terms with this tragedy and learn to navigate life without such an important person.
During the pandemic, I have once again watched many people in my inner and wider circle grapple with mental health as they tried to come to terms with isolation, uncertainty and the fragility of life.
The positive part of this story is that when we needed to, we have all been able to access support. This makes us unbelievably fortunate.
When you're experiencing a mental health problem, supportive and reliable information can change your life. This is what MIND does. They empower people to understand and take control of what is happening. I don't want mental health services to only be available to the privileged but be available for everyone as life is precious, it's hard and it is beautiful. Proper support can make all the difference.
