Story
Many of you will know that we sadly lost our Lyns on 5th November 2021, age 44, after a very short battle with cancer. Our lives were completely turned upside down 7 weeks previous when she was diagnosed with bowel cancer that had spread to her liver. Lyns had no symptoms you would expect with bowel cancer and only went to the doctor when she had a pain in her side. From there our nightmare began. Lyns was the most beautiful, kind and caring person anyone had the privilege to meet. She was a wife to Den, mum to Grace and Dylan, step mum to Lauren, daughter, nanny, sister, aunty and a friend to so many. Her loss has hit so many of us. Lyns motto was about making memories and she would always be snapping her camera to capture these. We wanted as a team to do something in her memory and to also raise awareness about this evil silent killer. Many don't like to talk about poo, won't take a test when offered and may ignore symptoms but if you have any symptoms, such as a change in bowel habit, blood in your stools or even just not feeling yourself then do something about it. It may just save your life. So as mad as we are and because Lyns loved walking and making memories a team of us are treking up Mount Snowdon on 26th August 2023. We will start at midnight and aim to reach the top just as the sun will be rising, enjoy the moment and then trek back down to enjoy brunch together. As we know so many people and loved ones are affected by this cruel illness, one of our walkers also sadly lost her dad Jack to bowel cancer at the young age of 54. We know he would be so proud of her for doing this and like Lyns he will be with us every step of the way. Times are hard for all of us at the moment and even if our trek just raises awareness then it would be all worth it but If you can spare a few pennies for Bowel Cancer that would be a bonus. Lots of love to you all From Lyndsey's Lionesses
