Story
On the 3rd of September 2022 I was one very excited lady. After spending the afternoon with my daughter Charlotte we thought that in the next several hours I would be welcoming my beautiful grandson Noah into the family. When Adam collected Charlotte later that evening we all said our goodbyes with great anticipation of his imminent arrival. I can not begin to explain what it feels like to hear the words " we can not find a heart beat" or how the phone call that you thought was going to share wonderful news brings you to your knees. Noah came into the world on the 4th of September 2022 born sleeping and has been our little star in heaven ever since.
So both Charlotte and I wanted to do this night walk up Snowdon not only to raise money for Sands who support bereaved families at this most devastating time of their lives but also bring us a little closer to him whilst he watches down on us from the night Skys. We will be supported in our training every step of the way by Adam, Bev, Malcolm and Dom who will be helping fund raise and providing much needed morale support on our way to get our fitness levels up and waist lines trimmer for the 21km adventure.
Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives. We depend on the amazing energies of our supporters to raise the vital funds that we need to deliver the wide range of services that we offer. #TeamSands
