Story
Like so many, I discovered running during lockdown. At first it was the opportunity to get away from the routine of life but 3 months in, something changed. I was looking forward to my 5K runs. It became my escape, my opportunity to listen to my favourite tunes and cope with the day! As a busy, working mother and partner, I rarely get time to myself. I also struggled with my fitness and saw exercise as a punishment in which I never achieve my goals. Running changed all of this. My only competitive race was a 10K and I absolutely loved it. I achieved my PB and soaked up every part of the experience.
Running the London Marathon will be a big commitment for myself and my family. I want to make them proud and I want to make myself proud. I am running for a great charity, Mind. They provide the opportunity to individuals with mental health challenges, to help them cope and succeed in their everyday lives. I would be very grateful if you can donate whatever you can for this great charity, Mind as I run the London Marathon.
