Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My page is titled 'Naka' which means 'My Pride' to honour the memory of my late Grandad who gave me the name. Grandad sadly died of prostrate cancer in 2003 and I glad to say that I made him proud on the 16th of September by taking part in the 2012 Bupa Great North Run.
I ran 13 miles to raise funds for Cancer Research UK (CRUK), a charity renown for it's efforts to save lives through research. Their work has been at the forefront of the fight against cancer, especially in the development of successful drugs such as carboplatin. CRUK receives no government funding for the vital work they do and solely rely on the generosity and support of the public.
You can be sure that every bit of your donation is well accounted for. For every £1 donated 80p goes directly into cancer research. £10 could buy enough glass slides to examine 300 tumour samples; £1000 could cover the basic costs for 10 women to take part in a clinical trial to improve the survival rate of breast cancer.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. If you are a UK tax payer please remember to Gift-Aid your donation as this makes it financially worth more(25%) at no extra cost to you.
