Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In the heat of the moment and after a few glasses of wine, we thought "yeah, we can do that Great North Run!". A few months later, which brings us to a month before the big race day, we are thinking "why the hell are we doing this to ourselves?!". We have been near to tears, tantrums and storm-offs (in flipflops!!), our friendship has been tested to say the least!
But then, we think again and remind ourselves of the reasons behind it....
Bowel Cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in the UK and more than 16,250 people die each year; that's someone every 30 minutes!
In January 2009, Daddy Brown passed away after putting up a brave fight against bowel cancer. Just a little over a year later, Uncle Patrick passed away from the same disease...as you can see, it really is as common as they say it is!
This is a extremely worth while cause so any spare pennies will be greatly appreciated and will help Bowel Cancer UK save lives and raise awareness.
If you know us personally, you'll know isn't an easy challenge, we are certainly putting ourselves through the pain of it!
We'll let you know how it goes after the 18th September 2011.
Thank you so very much.
