Story
In January this year, I decided that I would like to challenge myself to run the Manchester Half Marathon (running a half marathon is completely new to me) for my Granny and to hopefully raise some money towards the illness that she has been suffering for several years.
I am forever grateful that I had the opportunity to tell my Granny that I was doing this for her and had already achieved 10km in my training, it made her smile although she probably didn’t quite grasp the concept of what I was doing and has never understood that she herself was suffering with this awful disease.
Sadly on February 23rd, my Granny passed away, although we knew that time was limited we did not expect this to happen when it did. She was released peacefully in her sleep from the trapped world she had been in, we will all miss her very much.
My focus has now changed to running in her memory instead and any donations towards more research for this cause to help future generations will be very welcome.
Thank you so much,
