Story
The story so far.....at just the wrong side of 40 I took up running and not only do I really enjoy it but I have now decided to enter the Bristol 10k. I do have a time in mind but I am keeping this to myself just in case it needs revising on the afternoon of the 9th May!
When someone close to you is diagnosed with something life changing such as MS, there seems little you can do to help and you can feel quite useless. This was how I felt when it happened to me but as soon as I took up running, I set myself a goal that I wanted to be able to run far enough to enter a race and be able to contribute to a charity like the MS Society so that I could help in some small way.
The MS Society is the UK's largest charity for people affected by multiple sclerosis, which is about 100,000 people in the UK. They have 350 branches around the UK offering help and support to those affected. 90% of their funding comes from individuals, either through donations, taking part in sponsored events or leaving a legacy. With this support they invest in their vital services and in to research programmes.
Please help me to my bit for the MS Society, no matter how small, it will be greatly appreciated and if you're in Bristol on 9th May, a couple of cheers wouldn't go a miss either!
Thank you
